* gallium: extend pipe_context::flush for it to accept an END_OF_FRAME flagMarek Olšák2013-01-041-2/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Usage with pipe_context: pipe->flush(pipe, NULL, PIPE_FLUSH_END_OF_FRAME); Usage with st_context_iface: st->flush(st, ST_FLUSH_END_OF_FRAME, NULL); The flag is only a hint for drivers. Radeon will use it for buffer eviction heuristics in the kernel (e.g. for queries like how many frames have passed since a buffer was used). The flag is currently only generated by st/dri on SwapBuffers. Reviewed-by: Brian Paul <[email protected]> Reviewed-by: Stéphane Marchesin <[email protected]>

* gallium: add start_slot parameter to set_vertex_buffersMarek Olšák2012-10-311-3/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This allows updating only a subrange of buffer bindings. set_vertex_buffers(pipe, start_slot, count, NULL) unbinds buffers in that range. Binding NULL resources unbinds buffers too (both buffer and user_buffer must be NULL). The meta ops are adapted to only save, change, and restore the single slot they use. The cso_context can save and restore only one vertex buffer slot. The clients can query which one it is using cso_get_aux_vertex_buffer_slot. It's currently set to 0. (the Draw module breaks if it's set to non-zero) It should decrease the CPU overhead when using a lot of meta ops, but the drivers must be able to treat each vertex buffer slot as a separate state (only r600g does so at the moment). I can imagine this also being useful for optimizing some OpenGL use cases. Reviewed-by: Brian Paul <[email protected]>

* gallium: unify transfer functionsMarek Olšák2012-10-112-45/+15
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | "get_transfer + transfer_map" becomes "transfer_map". "transfer_unmap + transfer_destroy" becomes "transfer_unmap". transfer_map must create and return the transfer object and transfer_unmap must destroy it. transfer_map is successful if the returned buffer pointer is not NULL. If transfer_map fails, the pointer to the transfer object remains unchanged (i.e. doesn't have to be NULL). Acked-by: Brian Paul <[email protected]>

| | | | | | | | | | | | PIPE_MAX_SAMPLERS, PIPE_MAX_VERTEX_SAMPLERS and PIPE_MAX_GEOMETRY_SAMPLERS were all defined to the same value (16). In various places we're creating arrays such as sampler_views[PIPE_SHADER_TYPES][PIPE_MAX_SAMPLERS] so we were assuming the same number of max samplers for all shader stages anyway. Of course, drivers are still free to advertise different numbers of max samplers for different shaders.

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | There are 3 changes: 1) stride is specified for each buffer, not just one, so that drivers don't have to derive it from the outputs 2) new per-output property dst_offset, which specifies the offset into the buffer in dwords where the output should be stored, so that drivers don't have to compute the offsets manually; this will also be useful for gl_SkipComponents from ARB_transform_feedback3 3) register_mask is removed, instead, there is start_component and num_components; register_mask with non-consecutive 1s doesn't make much sense (some hardware cannot do packing of components) Christoph Bumiller: fixed nvc0. v2: resolve merge conflicts in Draw and clean it up

* gallium: interface changes necessary to implement transform feedback (v5)Marek Olšák2011-12-151-0/+21
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Namely: - EXT_transform_feedback - ARB_transform_feedback2 - ARB_transform_feedback_instanced The old interface was not useful for OpenGL and had to be reworked. This interface was originally designed for OpenGL, but additional changes have been made in order to make st/d3d1x support easier. The most notable change is the stream-out info must be linked with a vertex or geometry shader and cannot be set independently. This is due to limitations of existing hardware (special shader instructions must be used to write into stream-out buffers), and it's also how OpenGL works (stream outputs must be specified prior to linking shaders). Other than that, each stream output buffer has a "view" into it that internally maintains the number of bytes which have been written into it. (one buffer can be bound in several different transform feedback objects in OpenGL, so we must be able to have several views around) The set_stream_output_targets function contains a parameter saying whether new data should be appended or not. Also, the view can optionally be used to provide the vertex count for draw_vbo. Note that the count is supposed to be stored in device memory and the CPU never gets to know its value. OpenGL way | Gallium way ------------------------------------ BeginTF = set_so_targets(append_bitmask = 0) PauseTF = set_so_targets(num_targets = 0) ResumeTF = set_so_targets(append_bitmask = ~0) EndTF = set_so_targets(num_targets = 0) DrawTF = use pipe_draw_info::count_from_stream_output v2: * removed the reset_stream_output_targets function * added a parameter append_bitmask to set_stream_output_targets, each bit specifies whether new data should be appended to each buffer or not. v3: * added PIPE_CAP_STREAM_OUTPUT_PAUSE_RESUME for ARB_tfb2, note that the draw-auto subset is always required (for d3d10), only the pause/resume functionality is limited if the CAP is not advertised v4: * update gallium/docs v5: * compactified struct pipe_stream_output_info, updated dump/trace

* gallium: separate out floating-point CAPs into its own enumMarek Olšák2011-11-221-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The motivation behind this is to add some self-documentation in the code about how each CAP can be used. The idea is: - enum pipe_cap is only valid in get_param - enum pipe_capf is only valid in get_paramf Which CAPs are floating-point have been determined based on how everybody except svga implemented the functions. svga have been modified to match all the other drivers. Besides that, the floating-point CAPs are now prefixed with PIPE_CAPF_.

* st/python: Remove bindings, and all its dependencies.José Fonseca2011-04-061-1/+6
| | | | | | | | | Because: - bindings are not fully automatic, and they are broken most of the time - unit tests/samples can be written in C on top of graw - tracing/retracing is more useful at API levels with stable ABIs such as GL, producing traces that cover more layers of the driver stack and and can be used for regression testing
* gallium: remove flags from the flush functionMarek Olšák2011-03-111-3/+1
| | | | | | | | | | The drivers have been changed so that they behave as if all of the flags were set. This is already implicit in most hardware drivers and required for multiple contexts. Some state trackers were also abusing the PIPE_FLUSH_RENDER_CACHE flag to decide whether flush_frontbuffer should be called. New flag ST_FLUSH_FRONT has been added to st_api.h as a replacement.
