Cosmetic makefile generation stuff
Detect Jython; autodetection via platform does not work here, so tell
the user they have to use --os and --cpu to set the target. Other than
that Jython 2.5 seems to handle things nicely.
Detect invalid settings for --with-endian during option parsing.
Wrap some long lines for readability.
